Lyrics

She’s watching a sleeping dog while pulling thorns out from her tongue, waiting for the eye to strike.
She’s pulling a silken punch and her eyes scarred from your ignorance.
This ain’t no lullaby.
She moves across the floor her body stretched out for more and she’s not gonna win this fight.
Her lips shake to resist the taste of your weat on her hips and this doesn’t feel right.

She’s screaming out;
She’s fighting hard to regain her doubt.
Behind these eyes she says goodbye.

She’s hanging up her shoes with nothing gained, nothing left to lose.
She’s gonna play tonight.
Her back is up against the wall.
She stands in fear but she stands tall.
Taller than you can strike.

She waits to make her move and she knows it’s her or you who, who will get to the other side?
She’s riding with both hands and she’s leaving not by your command.
She’s not gonna bleed tonight.

She’s screaming out.
She’s fighting hard to regain her doubt behind these eyes
she says goodbye.

She’s watching a sleeping dog while  pulling thorns out from her tongue.
Waiting for the eye to strike.
She’s pulling a silken punch and her eyes scarred from your ignorance.
This ain’t no lullaby.
